Mosaic Art Project

There is a strong tradition of mosaic art in Cyprus from the early Roman and Christian period onward. The Art Department at ISOP has undertaken a challenging project to create a number of large mosaics which will decorate the school in years to come.
All classes from Reception to Year 9 were involved, in one way or another.  The little ones for example,  sorted out the colours and the older ones did the actual placing of the pieces and the grouting.  The mosaic designs were sketched by the students and supervised by the art teachers, Mrs Afxentiou and Mrs Chojnowsky.  The project lasted one month and took place during the art lessons.  The students had fun and had expanded their knowledge and creativity. See the photos and get an idea of their hard work.
