On Friday 30th September, Apostolos Parellis visited our school. Mr. Parellis, a Cypriot track and field athlete specialising in discus throw, is an admired, world-class sportsman. He achieved 8th position in Rio de Janeiro’s Olympic Games last summer in the discus throwing event and is also the current Cypriot national record holder, with 65.69 metres since May 2016.

Mr. Parellis spoke to our students in the assembly and shared his experiences in Rio, as well as what it took for him to become a first-class, professional athlete. His message was simple and clear: “Believe in yourself, hold on to your dreams and never give up!”

On behalf of the whole school, the P.E. Department would like to thank Mr. Parellis warmly for his inspiring presentation!
