Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards For The International School of Paphos

Once again, students of The International School of Paphos (ISOP) have shown their academic excellence by winning Outstanding Learner Awards from Cambridge Assessment International Education. Six of the school’s pupils received prizes in five different subjects for their performance in the summer 2017 examinations. All of them achieved the top marks in Cyprus in their respective areas of study.

Alexandra Mamina obtained the “Top in Country” Award for AS-Level Information Technology.

Marcus Chojnowski received a High Achievement Award for A-Level Economics. He had won the same prize at AS-Level last year and is currently studying Politics, Philosophy and Economics at Exeter University.

The following students also obtained High Achievement Awards: Yianna Achilleos for AS-Level Economics, Declan Richards for AS-Level Business Studies, Andreas Drymiotis for IGCSE Greek and Kateryna Vitiuk for IGCSE Art & Design.

Together with winners from other schools, the six outstanding students were honoured at a ceremony in Nicosia on 15th January. They continue a long-standing, proud tradition of ISOP, whose pupils have won Cambridge Awards frequently since 2000 and every year since 2012 in a wide range of different subjects.

Headmistress Dr. Litsa Olympiou commented: “We are extremely pleased that our success story continues in the school’s thirtieth year. This confirms once more that we do indeed offer excellence in education and stay abreast of the changing challenges in our field. We congratulate our award-winners, their families and the teachers who helped them gain these awards.”
