Careers Field Trip to Netherlands

“One of the best trips of my entire life. My only regret is getting on the flight back”, “loved it so much… wish we could have stayed” are only a few of the many positive comments expressed by the students who travelled to the Netherlands on a Careers Field Trip.

Twenty-seven students from The International School of Paphos had the opportunity to visit eight different universities in four different cities and to meet ISOP Alumni who shared their experiences with our current students.

First destination was Amsterdam and the University of Amsterdam, followed by the Hague University and the Vrije University.

The city of Rotterdam and the Erasmus University was the next destination, while the third city to visit was Eindhoven and three its universities: Fontys University, the Eindhoven University of Technology, where the students visited the Architecture and Engineering Department and the Eindhoven Design Academy.

Tilburg was their last destination. At the Tilburg University, they enjoyed an open day, where they attended talks and presentations by various departments of the university.

The main highlight of the trip was for students to gain information regarding Dutch universities, but of course they seized the opportunity to see the different cities and to experience the culture of the Netherlands. They visited Zaanse Schans near Amsterdam, a place where they were able to discover crafts, windmills and houses from the 19th and 19th centuries and the Van Gogh Museum, with some of the artist’s masterpieces exhibited in this unique Museum. And of course, a river bus tour was a must activity to do in Rotterdam!
