Boarding Life
Daily life at The International School of Paphos Boarding House offers a perfect balance of variety and routine. Our location near the beautiful Mediterranean Sea and our approach to learning ensures that our boarding students experience a rich assortment of activities outside of their daily schedule.
Weekdays
On weekdays boarders get ready for school which begins at 7:30 a.m. and ends at 2:15 p.m. At school they have the opportunity to socialise with day pupils and participate in extra-curricular activities. Boarders also participate in further activities in the evenings, weekends and holiday periods (apart from Christmas, Easter and the Summer Break) which promote athletic, cultural and artistic growth, tranquility and individual development. Boarders have access to the school’s athletics facilities and the Sports Hall beyond the school hours under supervision.
Evenings and Weekends
The Boarding House has been designed and built with meticulous detail to create the perfect home away from home. All boarders are encouraged to take part in extra-curricular activities on offer during the evenings and weekends. These include sports fixtures and clubs, the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme, music, drama and arts and crafts. Activities are also organised within the Boarding House. Bespoke programmes may be organised based on individual interests and needs as there is a wide choice in Paphos. These include tennis, ballet, golf, martial arts, water sports and many more.
Academic Support
The International School of Paphos is dedicated to motivating our students to achieve academic success. Our boarding students receive all the support they need to encourage them to thrive academically and develop a true love of learning that will carry over into other areas of their lives.
Homework and Supporting Study at our Boarding School
During the day, Boarding School and day-school students study together. After regular classes have ended for the day, boarding school students have assigned study periods throughout the evening interspersed by activities, dinner and break times. During the study times, they focus on their homework, with access to tutors for support and guidance.
A Balanced Schedule - Learning Experiences Beyond the Classroom
At The International School of Paphos, we strike a balance between work and leisure. We equip students to excel in the classroom and apply their knowledge to every area of life. In addition, we encourage them to pursue personal interests and adventurous activities, including making friends, participating in hobbies and enjoying leisure-time. We strive to help students establish a healthy balance that they can sustain in their future. We offer a variety of extracurricular activities, including sports, science clubs and the arts. Every year, students have the opportunity to participate in overseas excursions and numerous local outings and for involvement in activities. Working towards common goals helps students deepen friendships and establish a sense of community. A typical student's schedule reflects healthy harmony between work and enjoyment. In addition to classes and study time, students have blocks in their schedule for extracurricular activities and free time. During the weekends, students can enjoy organised trips and their own creative pursuits. We inspire students to find a balance that is suitable for each of them, including connecting with friends on campus and participating in approved excursions into the local community. Community service is also encouraged, with our pupils offering their time to take initiative and volunteer in ecological and charitable activities.
Nutritious Food Plans
Good health starts in the kitchen. At The International School of Paphos, we understand how good nutrition affects every aspect of a student's life. We employ an expert catering service that provides many healthy food options, using local products, including those for special dietary requirements. If your child has any special food needs, please discuss the details with us during the application stage. We will make every effort to cater for your child's needs. In addition to a nutrition-focused dining plan, we help students establish healthy practices around food and eating. We incorporate cooking classes into the boarding routine and organise themed meals that celebrate our multi-cultural student body.
