Our Careers Department advises Secondary School students about access to higher education professional training and the world of work. This includes applications to British universities (through UCAS), as well as universities in other European countries, the USA (via the Fulbright Commission) and other parts of the world. Our careers advisers also aim to promote the personal development of our pupils and enhance their research skills.
The programme begins in Year 9 with careers workshops focusing on personal awareness and the development of key skills. This, along with annual one-to-one careers guidance interviews, allows students to make informed decisions regarding their options for IGCSE, AS- and A-Levels as well as university applications.
We offer a series of workshops, visits and presentations by guest speakers concentrating on specific career choices, research on higher education establishments, courses, entry requirements and the university application process.
Further guidance is given within the framework of Citizenship, where interview skills, writing a CV and building a Record of Achievement portfolio are developed.
