CLUBS & EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

Clubs & Extra - Curricular Activities

The curriculum is significantly enhanced by extracurricular activities, both for Primary and Secondary School students. Clubs and activities may provide additional extra-curricular subjects or enhance a child’s current studies during the school year.

After-School Clubs
Clubs are divided into two areas:
  1. Clubs which incur no fee
  2. Activities which are organised from an external source for which a fee is paid to the organiser

The Clubs and Activities change from one academic year to the next, depending on demand. Clubs and activities take place on a weekly basis, running from September to May excluding holidays and examination periods for the Secondary School.

Primary Clubs include Story-telling Club, Eco-Craft Club, Sports Club, Dance Club, Book Club and so on.

Secondary Clubs include Radio Club, Eco Club, Sports Club, Programming Club, Drama Club and so on

Key Stage One clubs normally occur between 1.05 p.m. and 1.45p.m.

Key Stage Two clubs normally occur between 1.05 p.m. and 2.00p.m

Secondary School clubs normally occur between 2.15 p.m. and 3 p.m.

Educational Conferences / Debates / Public speaking Opportunities

Secondary School students are given the opportunity to participate in Model United Nations Conferences, the The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, Junior Achievement Cyprus (JA Cyprus), the European Youth Parliament Programme (EYP), the European Parliament Ambassador School Programme (EPAS) and other events.  These are usually run as clubs.

Competitions

Our students are given opportunities to take part in several competitions and awards including Bebras, Mathematics Olympiads, CREST and others.

Charity / Volunteering Work

Community service is also encouraged, with our pupils offering their time to initiate and take part in charity work within the local community.  Students taking part in the Philanthropy Club are tomorrow’s youth committed to sharing what it means and how it feels to give without expecting.

Excursions/Trips

A wide variety of field studies and out-of-school visits offer exciting educational and cultural experiences for learners of all ages.
