As we approach November 11th, a day of profound historical significance, we are reminded of the sacrifices made by countless individuals in the pursuit of peace and freedom. This day, known globally as Armistice Day or Remembrance Day, marks the end of World War I, serving as a solemn reminder of the tragedy of war and the value of peace.

On the 11th of November 1918, the armistice was signed at Compiègne, France, bringing an end to the hostilities on the Western Front of World War I. This momentous event is commemorated worldwide with ceremonies, moments of silence, and the wearing of red poppies in tribute to those who served and sacrificed humane ideals.

It is a time for reflection and gratitude, reminding us of the importance of working towards a peaceful future. In honour of this important day, our school is proud to host a Blood Donation Day on November 11th. This event not only commemorates the bravery and selflessness of those who served, but also provides us with an opportunity to give back to our community in a meaningful way.

Blood Donation is a vital act of service that can save lives and support those in need. Blood is essential for surgeries, cancer treatments, chronic illnesses, and traumatic injuries. By donating blood, we embody the spirit of compassion and service that November 11th represents.

We encourage all eligible members of our school community – parents, students and staff- to participate in this noble cause. Students who are over the age of 17 are especially encouraged to donate blood.

Your contribution can make a significant difference in someone’s life. Together, let’s pay tribute to the past and make a positive impact on the present.

Thank you for your support and participation.

Between 12pm and 3pm.
